Protected Species Surveys
Habitat Surveys
Phase 1 Habitat Surveys:
- A walkover survey noting the habitats as per the JNCC Phase 1 habitat assessment, note the conservation value and list characteristic species.
- Walkover includes noting habitats for protected species, and ecological assessment of habitats.
UK Habitat Surveys:
- Walkover surveys noting the habitats in line with UK Habitat survey definitions, can be extended to include a habitat condition assessment for use in Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments.
Phase 2 & National Vegetation Classification (NVC)
- Detailed botanical surveys for planning, management or development.
- Botanical surveys include hedgerow assessments, arable margins, woodlands and known botanical populations.
